Here we are again with “Cognomi d’Italia, an online column about the Italian Surnames”. It has been created by Michele Cartusciello, Manager of the Museum, in collaboration with Ondanews.it in order to let people discover this interesting “world”, the origin and the spread of some surnames. Today, we are going to talk about the surname Coiro.

The Museo del Cognome was born in 2012 as a one-of-a-kind place. It is located on the ground floor of a 1700 building. Its interiors show a specific didactic itinerary to learn more about genealogy. It is also the seat of a professional team led by Michele Cartusciello, genealogist and manager of the museum. The whole team offers several services in the ambit of family history research.
