February 29, 2016: the Museo del Cognome will launch the new project Fumetto Genealogico – My ancestry comic book.
After 2 years from the opening of the section “Uomini Illustri”, the Museo del Cognome will publish the family history of a celebrity every month from now on. The first article of this new initiative is on Bergoglio Family, the family of our Pope Francis.
It was delivered on October 17th 2015 at the Cappella dei Celestini in Potenza, a lecture on Genealogy for kids developed by the Museo del Cognome. Four classes coming from the Istituto Comprensivo Torraca-Bonaventura in Potenza attended the lessons with great interest.
It was a great pleasure and honor to host Veronica Dudo here at the Museo del Cognome and Vallo di Diano. On September 25-30, 2015, the young American journalist filmed stories, traditions, projects relating our territory through interviews, meetings and reportages.
You will find below some lines dedicated to the Museum’s staff and Foiano, the town where the last Ancestors Tour took place. Nick and Darlene D’Alessio came from Texas to find their Italian roots.

The “Who Do You Think You Are? Live” Show took place on April 17-19 at the NEC, the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham. Three days dedicated to Genealogy and to the historical and cultural contexts of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.
Great success for the Museum at the RootsTech 2015, the biggest genealogical show held in Salt Lake City last February.
